There is currently a sun shower going on in Chicago near O'Hare. Is it weird that I get giddy watching the water bead and roll off of my RainX-ed windows and waxed paint? Even after 2 months of not being washed?

Also, out of curiosity... Have you ever seen another Grand Marquis in that color? It's been in the family since new and I've only ever seen one other in that color, and it's not like I live in Bumpkinville Montana. GIS for ["Grand Marquis" Amethyst] doesn't show any. Not even the darker color.

That stuff's not bad... but I wouldnt trust it to last all year. I used some Meguiars gold class and their ultimate spray wax. And after more than 2 months the parts that aren't caked with dust still bead.

It's rather caked with dust. Dust doesn't do too good a job of repelling water.

Use sealant instead of wax. Rain will whisk the dust away.

Once a year I give it a clay bar, then polishing compound, then glaze then wax and remove with a microfiber rag. I use a spray detailer to remove the excess wax residue, and then a spray wax between washes. It gets parked for the winter and comes back in spring. The family has a surplus of cars we rotate lol.
